Choosing a Church Hat According To Your Face Shape

While some women's church hats look amazing on display, they don't always look equally beautiful once worn. Fact of the matter is that the shape of the face plays a vital role in deciding the kind of a church hat a woman should buy.

Following are some common face shapes and the recommended selection of hats that go well:

Heart shaped face

For women who have a heart shaped face, asymmetrical, small to medium sized brimmed; ladies church hats like toque or beret, beanie, homburg, cloche, boater and fedoras work best. They look flattering and are able to balance off the face shape.

Straight brims should be avoided as they increase the plumpness of the face and make the cheeks appear rounder. It is also suggested for women of this face shape to choose hats with aesthetic details such as flowers or a scarf or any other element which will settle to one side if they wear the hat with a slant.

Oblong shaped face

Oblong shaped faces are characterized by a long face, narrow jaw line and high forehead. Optimal hats with a low crown and flared brim are best suited for such faces. For instance, a large brimmed fedora, a cloche or a sunhat will work perfectly fine. A cloche, if worn lower towards the eyebrows can make an oblong face look shortened. A large brimmed fedora can also neutralize the vertical curves of an oblong shaped face. On the other hand, tall crowned hats should be avoided as they make the face look longer than it is.

Square shaped face

A beret can help a square shaped face appear elongated. Long brimmed and crown hats are ideal for this face shape. Choose a cloche, homburg, or a sunhat to give definition to your face.
Hats with shorter or no brims should be avoided.

Oval shaped face

Almost all kinds of hats suit a woman with an oval shaped face. If you have an oval face, you can choose any hat according to your mood and personal style. The possibilities are endless.

Round shaped face

Round face shaped women should focus on hats that can help slim down their facial features. A straight brimmed or high crowed hat is great to give an angled definition to the face. However, round crowns should be avoided as they may make your face appear even more round.

Dressing Etiquettes to Keep In Mind

How you dress is an important part of your personality that you must never overlook. If it didn’t, would there be the millions of choices and thousand dollar women suits that we have today? Dressing speaks about the kind of person you are in your personal life and so there is great importance for dressing etiquette, which you must pay attention to as well. Keep the following dressing etiquettes in mind before heading out of home the next time:

Dress As Per the Occasion

It is important to style and dress up according to the occasion. Whether or not it has been mentioned in the invite, you don’t want to look under dressed or over dressed for any occasion. For example, if you are going to the church, invest in a few elegant church suits and hats. Similarly, if it is a wedding, you cannot attend it in your summer dress.

Dressing In the Day Time

Depending on the weather, it is generally recommended that you should wear lighter colored dresses in the daytime, especially if you live in sunny area and the weather is hot. Such colors can include whites, pastels, beige. However, if it’s cold outside, it’s best to step out in dark colors as they also help you keep warm.

Stepping Out In the Evening

The evening calls for a more formal dressing. Rich, dark colors, such as black and red, are great to wear for the evenings and into the night. You can bring out your heels, and depending on the type of occasion you are heading out for, a bit of glitter can be a good choice.

Some Dressing Mistakes to Avoid

Many times, either in hurry or plain carelessness, we tend to violate dressing etiquettes. Keep in mind that although flip-flops are comfortable, you cannot wear them everywhere. They are good for the beach or a very hot day. Other things to remember are not to dress up in bright colors at a funeral; look your best when you go to the church on Sunday; and dress formally when you have been notified of the dress code beforehand.

What Do Your Clothes Say About You?

You can make a quick judgment about any person who passes you by on the street by the way they’re dressed. You may be able to deduce their employment, emotions, and income status. That is because of stereotypes we have created and because there is an influence of many things behind dressing in women’s suit or dress. Who would deny staring at their wardrobe for a good five minutes before deciding? Certainly not women. However, here are some interesting things that your clothes say about your personality:

If You Only Wear Neutral Dresses

If you are someone who wears only neutral colors or dresses, and don’t like to accessorize much, psychologists say that you might be afraid to draw attention to yourself, and don’t like change. Try to deviate from the path every now and accessorize your outfits to feel and look fresh.

If You Dress In Oversize Clothes

If you do not dress in clothes that match your size, it implies that you see your body differently and do not want to confront your current body type. Go shopping with a friend and feel comfortable in your body by wearing clothes that highlight your best features.

If You Dress Young for Your Age

Dressing up too young for your age means that you are stuck between your real age and the age you feel you are. They say we are only as young as we think we are, and to look appropriate, just shift your outfits towards the goal rather than age. For example, dressing for a meeting, the church, or any other occasion to make it easier.

Clothes certainly affect your mood throughout the day. Who would disagree feeling irritable and moody in a dress that is too tight on them or one which makes them feel uncomfortable? When our mood is apparent, people make judgments.  It is important that you choose your special occasion suits for ladies carefully. There is no denying the fact that wearing smart clothes makes us feel smart about ourselves and vice versa.
